Mandi Martin's first Pinball Endurance Record was set June 26-July 1, 1978, when she played for 140 hours and 32 minutes (just under 6 days). Her second record was completed October 20 - November 10, 1979, as she amazed the world by playing for 505 hours (3 weeks & 1 hour), while raising an incredible $35,000+ for The City of Hope!
Now Mandi did it again, this time for 555 hours 55 minutes and 55 seconds...
20 years later and 50 hours longer...while celebrating her 55th birthday!
Beginning on March 5, 2000, a 23-day Pinball Marathon took place at her home in Woodland Hills, California. A crew of close to 200 music industry friends and business associates, including recording artists, producers, engineers, publishers, attorneys, managers, musicians, label executives and songwriters, assembled to help Mandi Martin break her third World Record at Pinball Endurance and to raise funds for America's Breast Cancer Ride, Gilda's Club, Haven Hills, and MusiCares.
Mandi is a producer/songwriter and active voting member of the Los Angeles Chapter of The Recording Academy. MusiCares' Emergency Financial Assistance Program came to her aid when her husband, Jerry Fox, suddenly passed away in the summer of 1995. Since the assistance provided by MusiCares involves financial aid and addiction recovery, most recipients choose to remain anonymous. As a prior recipient of the MusiCares Emergency Financial Assistance Program, Mandi Martin used the Pinball Marathon to bring public attention to the MusiCares mission.
