LETTER FROM THE WEBMASTER:

Dear Fellow Jackson Browne Fans,

As many of you have noticed, The Jackson Browne Fans Page was down for a couple of weeks this month. The server that it was on crashed and there was no way to retrieve the website. It took time for my ISP to analyse the problem and confirm that the data could not be restored. Then they had to install a brand new server. And then I had to go into my archives and reload the whole website, which is a project I'm still working on. So far, I have uploaded in excess of 1,000 files to the new server and the website is back up and running with about 95% of it restored.

There were more than 16 years worth of files on the old server and it will take time to track down every link and graphic to make sure everything has been fully restored. Since I first posted the website back in the summer of 1995, this is the longest that it has ever been down. I am sorry for any inconvenience.

If anyone notices any broken links or missing graphics, please let me know. Thank you for your patience as I get everything back up and running.

GENERAL FAN COMMENTS:

Thanks for the great website,

I spent the 90's going to many of the Jackson Browne shows and found myself wanting more music and more Jackson...so years of his concerts in 5 states he was here in my city (Portland)

I headed downtown to find him and get his autograph and ask to tell him about my Sign language and more specifically his music... the concept came to me in college when I was in ASL 5 and ASL Poetry then creating from my life as a DJ the exact timing and thought thru conversions of the meanings of his lyrics...

But on 2 occasions he kind of got mad at me..

Once I had a poster of him from the 1980.s I had bought and asked for an autograph as he re-entered his hotel here in Portland..

He said (thinking I was a scalper) "I bet you got these all over your walls" meaning I was re-selling his autograph on EBay...

The funny thing is I do have his picture on my walls... over the years I was lucky enough to go backstage and get a photo of Jackson and me or with his biggest Alaska fan Lynnette....(I need her new email).

I know he will remember going to play in Alaska and in fact I flew there to see the show... I was the one he stopped the show for

.. Saying to the security as they were throwing me out from front row

"Hey hey let him go... let him go.... I know you don't get a lot of concerts here in Alaska but it's ok if he wants to dance"

as the guards let me go I turned to the crowd to stand up... then he said... "Don't worry it's ok if they sit..."..

Then on an earlier show in Portland I met Bruce Hornsby and told him my love of ASL and more specifically for Jackson's music... he gave me tickets to the next show with backstage passes to meet Jackson to tell him...but no luck.

And thru Tom at Gauc fund I met him when Jackson donated to Portland Public schools music funds.... (Thanks Jackson)

I sent 2 letters to his posted address but they came back and were returned...

I guess I wanted to tell Jackson.... Yea I do have pictures of you and me.... 7 times in a Photo... and no I'm not an eBay re seller... and I know you did not mean to take eBay out on me.... But I spent around 5,000 hours understanding, perfecting your music to ASL and yes I do have your pictures on my wall...LOL

I had earlier in the day seen Kevin on the street and said "hey Kevin welcomes to Portland" and he replied thank you How u know me.... I said I loved Jackson Browne and the band....

So as Jackson was yelling at me for his eBay signature scams he hated Kevin put his hand on my shoulder like a dad and said "he doesn't like that poster" and they went to the rooms...

Someday at a show or on the street I will get the chance to tell him this story and if he thinks it's ok... try ASL.... Before a show....
