Fan Letters & Reviews May 2007 GENERAL FAN COMMENTS: Looking for Tickets I am seriously (close to desperately) seeking one ticket to the Barre,Vermont shows. I live in Maine and will drive to VT in the hopes of getting an unused ticket at the box office. If anyone has one they are unable to use please contact me at sliebe@maine.rr.com I am able to pay for it, of course. I have been a fan for 30+ years but had given up seeing a show anywhere close to Maine since I relocated here (from Los Angeles) 14 years ago. SO... if you have a ticket to sell you will spare me from going to Barre and hanging around like a stray animal(although I'm not sure I'm above that at this point!) in hopes of seeing the show. Whew! That was hard. Thanks to all Submitted by: sliebe@maine.rr.com (Shea L.) GENERAL FAN COMMENTS: Ticket Trade? GENERAL FAN COMMENTS: Hi Russ, Just wanted to say I am amazed at how many people seem to dislike the song Linda Paloma. I absolutely love this song. It does take some getting used to because it is so different ffom his others. I have read a lot of articles where Jackson talks about this song how him and his wife used to go and eat at a Mexican restaurant and he came up with the idea for a mexican love song. I don't know if he just made up the name Linda Paloma or what but regardless I think it is a beautiful song that is worth a second listen. Light a candle, drink some wine, listen and relax and I bet people will change their minds! Thanks. FolkScene is a 35 year old radio program hosted by Howard & Roz Larman. It has been one of the best and most respected (and longest running) programs of its type on the air. I've been lucky to be able to call Howard & Roz my friends for the past 10 years or so. They are two of the nicest people I have ever met and their devotion to the music scene is unrivaled. Howard died on April 21st and this Tuesday evening was a star-studded tribute to this truly great and humble man. Among the performers were Jackson Browne, Wendy Waldman, Kenny Edwards, Dan Navarro, Steve Shapiro, Ashley Maher, Loudon Wainwright III, John McEuen, Richard Tompson, Dave Alvin, Peter Case, Jennifer Warnes and too many others to name. It was a very moving evening evening. Jackson sang "All Good Things". For me the absolute highlight of the evening was Jennifer Warnes' incredible a cappella rendition of "Amazing Grace." It brought tears to my eyes. I also thought that the sing-a-long of "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" led by John McEuen (with Matt Cartsonis and Jackson Browne providing some harmony) was the other highlight. I think Howard would have enjoyed the community sense of everyone singing along. Roz is continuing to run FolkScene. www.folkscene.com I miss Howard. He was truly an inspiration to me.
