This must be nineth time for Jackson to come Japan. There were 14 guitars and an electric piano ready, but Jackson used almost 8 guitars and an electric piano among them. This concert was the finalday of Japan Tour, the audience was expecting something specail at that night.

As fans in Nagoya could not have a chance to enjoy "The Naked Ride Home Tour" concert last year in Nagoya, we have been waiting for today's concert for a long long time strongly.

"These Days" was performed with guitar, in spite of my expectation that this song would be performed with piano, but I found it very fantastic version as wellas guitar version.

As for me, my faviurite song at this night were These Days, In The Shape Of A Heart, The pretender, Mohamed's Radio ,Love Needs A Heart and Alive In The World.

And I thought Jackson must have decided that he'd play Lives In The Balance and For America as the encore numbers, because he told "It's a dificult time to ..." before playing Lives In The Balance . I also thought he'd be confirmed that there must be other ways to solve military tragedic action by U.S. in Iraq.

Although his political consiousness appeared at the encore period, he pursuaded us very much and we were happy for being there with Jackson. Yes, we could surely enjoy fantastic night with Jackson and were satisfied with his great and heartful performance. We'll be looking forward to seeing him again, and we wish,if possible, he'd be back with David Lindley in near future.

Thanks a lot, Russ for wonderful sight! I'd like to say thank you as a representative of Jackson Brown's fans in Japan!

GENERAL FAN COMMENTS:

WHERE HAS JACKSON BROWNE BEEN ALL MY LIFE!!!!!!!!

My name is Lori and my first love has always been music. But Jackson Browne somehow slipped by me. Not sure how, lol. I always thought he was a jazz or blues guy from his name I guess. Looking up something, I ran across the song "Sky Blue and Black." I'de never heard it before and I couldn't believe it. That is the best love song I have ever heard. Well, I loved it so naturally I started looking up other songs by Mr. Jackson and found out I'd heard alot of his songs, just didn't know who was singing them. I'm not even sure why I never found out, because I love them all. I'm a 32 yr. old aspiring singer/songwriter and can only dream of being that deep. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one out there with such a love for music that it cannot be described. JACKSON BROWNE, where ever u are, it would be an honor to meet you and you can always count on this fan. Now that I've figured out who u are, I'm like a kid in a candy store with your music. Thank you for blessing my life. One day maybe God will bless me with meeting you.

Your fan forever,

GENERAL FAN COMMENTS:

Does anyone know why David Lindley did not attend the VH1 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame event honoring Jackson Browne? We missed seeing him on stage with Jackson. Would have been really cool to have seen Russ Kunkel, Danny Korchmar, David Lindley, Rosemary, etc. that night.

CONCERT REVIEWS: April 23 at Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Tokyo, Japan and April 30 at Geijutsu Souzou Center in Nagoya, Japan

Concert review Tokyo April 23, 2004 and Nagoya April 30th, 2004

Tokyo:

I enjoyed his concert at Tokyo April 23, 2004. That show is one of my favorite. Jackson did not talk much at the show. Jackson said "I did not talk so much tonight but it is not bad thing. I really enjoyed singing, the song flows in my mind". I believe he said something like this mean.

He also said "Requested songs are not first and second in my mind". I decided I would not request any song tonight.

Nagoya:

Jackson was tired when I saw him show opening. My seat was a front row.

I feel his condition is not perfect at the night. Jackson made blank time between the songs he performed in the beginning. I requested "Across the border line, Naked ride home and My stunning mystery companion. Jackson song those and I also song.

At the interval time, 2 guys noticed me please do not sing and do not talk so much. The words are shock to me. They think I am crazy but I did not say anything to them.

I still enjoyed the concert after this happening but it was not true.

CONCERT REVIEW: May 14 at Santa Monica High School/Barnum Hall in Santa Monica, CA.
With special guests Venice

Jackson Browne always seems to excel at whatever he does. He did so Last Night at Barnum Hall on the Campus of Santa Monica High School. When I arrived there were many familiar faces near the entrance. A band that has been a Staple at the Beach is "Venice". They are in the Musical Vein of Crosby Still Nash and Young. They are the Relatives of the Lennon Sisters. They opened up for Jackson. They are also very good friends with Jackson. The Song "For A Dancer" is Sung and Harmonized by VENICE on their new CD. They were excellent. Singing harmonies that sounded like early CSNY. They Performed for about 40 minutes.

There was a 20 minute break and T-shirts and DVD's were sold by the High School Students that are in the Arts Programs the money is being raised for. This concert was the start fir a Weekend to Benefit The Community Wide Arts Programs in Santa Monica, California. It is the Education Foundation's Goal to raise 15 million Dollars to create a permanent endowment fund to ensure that EVERY student in our Public Schools receives a Broad introduction to the arts (music, Visual Arts, Dance & Drama).

Many were still in the audience when Jackson came out on stage, favorite Guitar in his arms, sat down and started with "For Everyman". I will list the entire setlist later when I get it. Jackson sang many of his great tunes solo for about 30 minutes or so. The he brought out "his new friend' Jeff Hunter on Keyboards. Then Venice came back out to back up Jackson. I heard the best Version of 'For a Dancer' I ever heard. Pick up the 'VENICE' CD if you want to hear Jackson sing with the harmonies.

Jackson's Voice was better then the Thousand Oaks Show. At that show he sounded a Bit stressed in the Higher and Lower Ranges. All ranges of his voice were as if we were transported back to 1974. His voice was so on key and in tune this time. He mainly stuck to the guitar this time. He had his favorite one, that Dark Brown one. He did not have all the guitars he had for the solo Performance. When Jackson Sang LATE FOR THE SKY, I cannot help to shed a few tears. Jackson is the Only Male Singer/Songwriter that does that to me. This was a very special Concert for Jackson Browne. Most of the Audience was made up of people he knows. It seemed like we were all there in his living room.

Once again, Jackson Browne shows the great gift he has that he is willing to share with many. It was also mentioned that his Niece will be attending Santa Monica High School soon. Venice's lead singer said the same thing. I feel this performance is the finest one I have ever seen from Jackson Browne because of the nature of the Benefit. It is a Known fact that Jackson taught 187 inner city kids here in Los Angeles. They all graduated and 186 went to college. This is because of this great man. I say that because he is. his heart and soul is in the right place. The next time I see Jackson Browne will be in August for another benefit for the Topanga Canyon Art Community at the Will Geer Theater.

SET LIST - Barnum Hall, Santa Monica High School, Friday May 14, 2004 - "Benefit for the Arts"

GENERAL FAN COMMENTS:

Imagine my delight and surprise at finding Jackson Browne a feature story on today's Sunday Morning CBS show, a delightful little show in itself. After seeing the segment on Jackson Browne that rightfully gave significant tribute to his recent induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I headed to the nearest store and bought the CD "The Very Best of Jackson Browne." I do own every album ever made but it's nice to have many of the favorites so handy.

I was totally smitten with Jackson Browne when, as a junior attending Northern Arizona University in 1974, I attended his concert that was held in the gym as a benefit for the local Hopi Nation. From the moment he walked on stage, I was captivated, and no other recording artist has been able to equal or replace my devotion. I have been to many concerts since then, in Arizona and Oregon. (My early favorites were when he performed with Bonnie Raitt, but his recent solo tour was magical!) His music continues to stir my soul, and many of his lyrics resonate so deeply within me.

Thank you, Jackson Browne, for your gift of music, and for continuing your role as a social/political leader. If you're ever in Eugene, Oregon between now and 2008, and you'd like to be a guest speaker in an 8th grade language arts/US history class, let me know. I teach at a public school in Springfield, Oregon that serves very at-risk students who have little to look forward to in their life. Motivation and inspiration....I give them my best shot, but it sure can be a struggle at times. These are wonderful kids who just need a break...and it's not going to come through GW's "No Child Left Behind" plan, that's for sure!

Your humble ways and unassuming presence are so nice to see in comparison to today's otherwise indulged entertainers. And I speak for my 19 year old son too who, as my birthday present 2 years ago, surprised me with 2 tickets to a Jackson Browne/Tom Petty concert in Portland. Since then he understands why I hold you in such high regard. (I must say Tom Petty rocked, too...it was an awesome night!)

I'm glad you said yes to a CBS interview...it made my day. Thank you...

By the way, "These Days"...remains my perennial favorite.
