I have been a Jackson Browne fan since the mid-70s, when a friend said to me, "I'm going to lend you this album--'For Everyman'--Take it home and listen to it, you're really going to like this guy." Two weeks later, he came by my store and asked, "Have you listened to the Jackson Browne album yet"? I repied that I hadn't. So he said, "Look, I don't usually lend out my albums this long, but in this case I'm going to make an exception because I really want you to give it a listen. That night, I spun it from beginning to end on the turntable and thought it was the most profound lyrics and music I had ever heard. Before that, I had never heard one Jackson song on the radio. Since then I have been a lifelong fan, have been to numerous concerts, and have met him briefly (after concerts) several times, trying to connect with him about a book I have in process.
I hope some fan can help me with the following. I need to borrow (or buy) a copy of the "For America" video. I only saw it once, circa 1986. If anyone has a copy they can lend, or want to sell, I would be infinitely grateful--it would mean so much to me. You can contact me at mdyer@fiam.net
Hi ( bonjour ). I wrote you in january. Still listening Jackson's music and other songwriters. Don't forget EUROPE in coming tours. I think ( I'm even sure ) there are many people here waiting like me to see him , and if they don't know his earlier songs we have to educate them about it. I know it is very difficult to talk a fiew words to artists so I do it that way , thanks for all ( in ALSACE people drink a beer in WINSTUBS = our bars and talk about music and often with my friends about JACKSON BROWNE ). Are there any other french or european fans on the line ? Je ne pense pas être le seul à attendre un concert de JACKSON BROWNE en FRANCE ou pas trop loin d'ici , non? Have a fine day ( it's eastern today ).
