JACKSON BROWNE
Fan Letters & Reviews

June 2009

CONCERT REVIEW: May 18, 2009 at Auditori de Girona in Girona, Spain

Thank you for letting us know about the upcoming Soundstage show. I got on the Soundstage website and looked up the setlist for Jackson's show. He performed 21 songs, but only 10 made the final cut. Although I'm grateful to Soundstage for selecting JB for a show, it would have been nice if they'd made it a two-parter, as Tom Petty's fabulous show was.

It's too late to make it a two-part show now, but it would be great if all the JB fans who log onto your website could log onto Soundstage, click the "Contact Us" button, and deluge them with emails requesting Soundstage/PBS release a DVD of JB's performance in its entirety, or at least the one-hour show that airs. If they know there's interest, maybe they'll release it.

There is a video from the show of Jackson and band performing a great version of Culver Moon.

Jackson did Soundstage way back in 1976. It's so great to have him back on the show. Here's a link to Soundstage. http://www.pbs.org/wttw/soundstage/

Look at the Culver Moon video and don't hesitate to ask to publish the complete DVD. Tremendous.

Thanks Russ and thanks Fritz.

GENERAL FAN COMMENTS:

JD Souther is currently on tour promoting his new album, "If The World Was You". On Sunday night, June 14th, JD played at Soho in Santa Barbara, an intimate restaurant / music club on State St. Jackson had been honored earlier in the day by a local non-profit environmental group in Goleta, just north of Santa Barbara. JD played a stellar set including most of his new album along with old favorites like "Faithless Love", "Jesus in 3/4 Time", "Silver Blue" and "New Kid In Town".

For his final encore, JD welcomed Jackson and Karla Bonoff to the stage and they joined him in performing "The Best of My Love". It really was a magical moment. And JD, by the way, is in great shape with a voice to match. Great show.

GENERAL FAN COMMENTS:

Hi Russ,

I just watched Soundstage with Jackson on it and was blown away. I have read other peoples reviews about the 2 new singers, Alethea, and Chavonne, and were they ever correct. They add so much to the songs, giving them a freshness.

I would like to hear and see the whole show. Any idea if it can be purchased?

Thanks,

Webmaster's Reply:

I'm sorry but I have not heard of Jackson Browne's new Soundstage show being made available on DVD. If anyone does hear of a DVD release, please let us all know.

Personally, I'd love to see a 2-DVD set with Jackson's 1976 Soundstage appearance on one disk and the new appearance on the second disk. But that's probably just wishful thinking.

Russ

GENERAL FAN COMMENTS:

Hello,

I've been too busy with whatever and didn't read about Soundstage until today.

Is there anyone who can make a copy of that show for me, either on dvd or vhs?

If so let me know.

GENERAL FAN COMMENTS:

Hi Russ:

I m looking for a single seat for either of these shows. I thought I'd reach out to the fans instead of an overpriced ticket agency.

If so let me know.

July 17 at MGM Grand Theater at Foxwood in Mashantucket, CT

July 19 at Bank of America Pavilion in Boston, MA

Regards,
