CONCERT REVIEW: June 30, 2007 at Masada in Israel.

Hi guys

It's now 16:45 here in Israel. I just woke up from coming back from Masada. What can I say? First of all I drove all the way to there and from there with the die hard fans of David Broza and those are die hard fans they like only him! and they collect his towells after shows and crazy things like that which I didn't do even as a teenager and there is a whole family between them meaning grandmother daugther and two grandchildren but they are nice people.

Anyway this was a big production Masada is a small place and I think one third of the persons there were somehow connected to the production. You couldn't move without a camera by your side. David Broza did his routine whixh I don't really like because he seems more to show off than to really feel the music. There were a whole bunch of pwole there who came only to see Jackson!!! I was amazed from that but most of them were Americans I don't know whether they were tourists or not. There was one song he performed with part of a dancing group he performs here and there called "Mayumana" and the singer there is amazing but the piece didn't come out so good. After a while he invited Shawn Colvin to the stage as well. It was the first time I saw her as well. She sings beautifully and I started to like her now since i didn't have money on me I couldn't buy her cd but I will in the future.

Then came on Jackson! wow he looks really old, I couldn't belive that this everlasting younglooking person loooks like that. I stood up as he came and then he did one song with David which is a Broza's tune called "The Chileno Boys" (not a good song) and than he did "Looking East" and "For Everyman" Broza wanted him to stay but he didn't want to he seemed a bit in a shock or maybe he was excited who knows. At the end he came in with Shawn Colvin to perfom with David a Broza tune that is one of the anthems of popular music here called "Yeeh Tov" meaning "It will be alright" and that's all!!!!!!!!!!! I did all the effort to listen only to two songs of him alone but it was worth it. I took pictures with my polaroid but somehow I'll post them to you someday. I waited to talk with him afterthat only to tell him that me and a whole bunch of people came only for him and we wait for him to come and do a full show here before he's in a wheelchair or something like that, but I couldn't. I could see everyone Shawn, David and the musicians but no Jackson on sight! so I couldn't even give him my cds for an autograph (no that it's so important) but mainly I couldn't talk to him and tell him how much I appreciate his music and ask him please to come and do a full conmcert here. So guys you who see him very often please ask that from him on my behalf. That's all. Anyway the producer said it will be broadcast on December and not next year as we all read and understood so maybe you'll be able to see it sooner than you thought. Ok bye I start my day now.

GENERAL FAN COMMENTS:

I just wanted to express what a wonderful rendition Jackson did of "Oh, My Love" on the Instant Karma album. If you other dedicated fans haven't had a chance to hear it, I encourage you to. Truly moving.

GENERAL FAN COMMENTS:

I wanted to second the letter about Jackson Browne's version of "Oh, My Love" on Instant Karma--The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur. I made a clerk help me track down the CD at a discount store in the middle of a road trip just to hear his efforts and was very pleased with them. What a gem! Especially impressive is that he does all the singing and playing. I have since seen some reviews of this album and was happy to see Jackson's contribution praised (in contrast to that of some others). Buy the album to help support the cause and your reward will be 2:39 of beauty. Short but very sweet.

GENERAL FAN COMMENTS:

As a 51 year old, Jackson has always been my inspiration. I am a song writer who gave up 25 years ago and in the last 6 months have taken it back up and am recording in "The Rock Bottom Studio" (my basement) my dream would to be have Jackson be my producer, I feel we would have much in common. Yes Jackson, you are the man and no "pretender"! I would love to have him hear some of my composure's.
