Finally heard JB's version of Poor Poor Pitiful Me. Had to go out and buy the disc. It had a real garage band sound to it, just what Jackson needs as sometimes I think his stuff is overproduced. And man, Bonnie Raitt's playing...you just can't beat that combo! I don't know if this is the first time they've ever played together on a studio recording (w/Bonnie playing guitar), but it would be great to hear more of Bonnie's guitar on JB songs.
If you haven't bought Enjoy Every Sandwich yet - you really should, if only for JB's cover, Dylan's Mutineer, Pixies Ain't that pretty at all, Jordon Zevon's Studebaker (he can play and sing - wonder if he'll be putting anything out?) and Adam Sandler's cover (for not embarrassing himself and Warren)
I'll second the recommendation! You can purchase: Enjoy Every Sandwich: The Songs of Warren Zevon here. The CD, which was released on October 19, 2004, features many of Zevon's best-known songs performed by a stunning array of artists including Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Jackson Browne, Adam Sandler, Don Henley, The Pixies and many more. Jackson Browne, with some assitance by Bonnie Raitt, contributes a cover of Zevon's "Poor Poor Pitiful Me".
