Hi Russ,
I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but anyway...
Went to the second concert in The Hague (NL) and before the concert started (a great evening!) we were listening to some music coming from the PA in the hall... I'd like to know the name of the female singer of the lyrics "...thinking about the price I pay for love" (or something like that).
Anybody knows about it?
Thanks
Just a very brief review from the show in The Hague Yesterday. Jackson Solo is a treat. However yesterday i was paying less attention to Jackson than to my daughter Robin (13). It was her first concert visit ever! SO I was looking more at her than anything else.
Jackson had finished his first song when I emberassed my daughter by yelling out the title of her favourite song" I am the Cat", which he rewarded a few songs later by playing it, introducing it as a song written for his girlfriend. He actually acted the song out with gestures, funny.
All in all JB was not too talkative and not too responsive on playing song requests.
Then one song before the intermission we were in for a treat, a Cuban friend of his (they could not play in US or Cuba together because of visa constraints, so the decide to do it in Europe), whose name I did not get, played a beautiful song about Havanna.
After the intermission JB played a few songs before introducing Venice. What a party, JB stated later he felt he was a guest at a Venice Show.
They started of (i think) with I'm a a dancer, than Take it easy (he claimed there is a Dutch version, he would learn the Lyrics for his next appearance in The Netherlands, also he asked whether ther is a dutch Phrase for Take it Easy, he responded later yes there is: It is called Amsterdam... ), Then a duo session with Kip Lennon, concluded by Take a Load of Anny and Brown eyed Girl with the full band.
The band also wondered what Den Haag means, Venice's - Dutch - piano player stated it translates as "Hedge", and a bit later added another translation "Bush", everybody concluded "we do not like Bush".
Last song was a tribute to all Americans in the Netherlands who worked hard to get a change in the US Government even though Kerry was not against the war. Had he had the guts to word this he might have won! I am a Patriot ended the show with best wishes for thanks giving to everybody.
Take good care of yourself was the good bye wish and Robin and I headed home in the car listening to I am the cat
Hi, this is Andrea G. from Italy. I saw the November 28th Jackson Browne's concert at the Teatro Nuovo in the city of Udine. This is the setlist of the show

Farther on
Your bright baby blues
Colors of the sun
The crow on the cradle
The times you've come

The road
Mohammed's Radio (a song by Warren Zevon)
SECOND HALF

It was a very unbelievable experience, because the eighty per cent of the setlist came out of the audience's requests. I screamed for "The crow on the cradle" and "Love needs a heart" and Jackson immediately played these wonderful songs.
Goodbye
On the 18th of Nov in Dublin something cool happened that if you planned it you would not be able to
My wife and I had bought our tickets in early March to see Jackson and the time passed so quickly we both requested holidays off out jobs and my Wife sisters said they would look after out 31/2 year old daughter Alison - she likes Jackson.
Anyways the day was spent shopping, eating, all that good stuff in Dublin- looking at the new Luas line- we are from the West of Ireland Galway just to note.
By about 7pm we decided to have a drink close to the Olympia and I decided I need some extra cash in case there were any Tee shirts on the night- we had to walk back to Trinity college for a bank link about 500m which took about 10 minutes.
As we were coming back to the Olympia- I noticed a guy who looked pretty familiar- it was Jackson arriving for the show, he was with some people but I thought this is my chance and called out to him- He looked back and we shook hands, my wife couldn't believe it- I asked if it was ok to take a picture- I had forgot my Camera but bought one of those cheap cameras.
Jackson said he didn't really do pictures but he said it was ok- so he stood and took the time with us- he really seem a nice person taking time to actually give us some time and look us in the eye and smile.
My wife said we had a nice picture from Cork with Christy Moore and I mentioned we were from Galway where he spent some time with Sharon Shannon doing a song for her Album- He seemed to connect with what we were saying.
He thanked us for coming and hoped we had a great time and enjoyed the concert.
There was another women talking to him later and he seemed to know her.
Anyways the concert was just brilliant as ever- I have seen him about 5 times Phoenix, London Dublin, Cork
Some of his songs get you every time-
Till the next time.

Jackson has departed from these Isles leaving us all with many fond memories and immeasurable highs. I was lucky enough to go to three concerts (Glasgow (1st night); London (1st show) and Birmingham (1st night). The set lists are all posted yet when I sit down to look at the lists I am in awe again. Over the 3 nights he played 45 different songs. How can one man have so much talent?
Listed below is what I had the good fortune to hear and see during those three concerts. I'm sure someone has tabulated this sort of thing for whole tours or perhaps this is a challenge for someone to take up!!

You can download a fairly complete tour set list from Jackson's 2004 European Tour HERE. (This is in Excel spreadsheet format.)
Russ
Hi Russ
I would very much like to get hold of the piano sheet music for 'Sky Blue and Black'
It isn't in any of the published songbooks that I can find.
Can any body help??
Many thanks
Was at the concert in Antwerp on 5 December. It was great, especially the second part. Played from 8 till 9.10 first part and then from 9.30 till 11.10 second part.
So many songs...
I'll try to give some titles, but it won't be complete (I didn't write them down):
Doctor my eyes, Rock me on the water, Looking into you Take it easy, Our lady of the well (these two were the second bis), These days, For everyman
Late for the sky, Fountain of sorrow, For a dancer, After the deluge Your bright baby blues
Running on empty, Rosie, The load-out & Stay - as the first bis, with a remarkable appearrance of Matt (hope I heard the name right), the guy who was stemming (?) the guitars before the show, and who came on stage to play some guitar after Jackson called for him a while...
Of missing persons, Call it a loan, Somebody's baby
Looking east, The barricades of heaven, Some bridges, The naked ride home, About my imagination, My stunning mystery companion, Two Zevons songs; Roland the headless Thompson gunner & Mutineer
There were some more songs; I'll tell you which ones if I checked with someone else. Above songs are sure.
And yes... it was great!
He didn't talk that much. A bit about your government (he seemed VERY VERY disappointed about the election - was really a bit a sad part in the show), a bit about his girlfriend at the end (was nice), and a bit about the songs of course.
Take care there!
Saw Jackson at the Nov.19th show in Dublin,Ireland with my 19 year old son Sean and his two friends Bond and August. The 3 boys were just in Ireland for a visit after attending Outward Bound which started in the Bavarian Alps mountain climbing then on a tall ship called The Tenacious. They sailed from Southampton,England to the Canary Islands were the trip ended. They all three stayed a week in the Canary port and worked on the ship to get it ready for it's next trip. After completion they all three
traveled to Spain and then to Ireland. I decided to meet them in Dublin (from Tulsa,OK.) to see the mother land and share in the experience with my son. After seeing that Jackson was going to be in Dublin I purchased 4 tickets and we had a great time. We sat in the upper balcony right next to the bar and had a few beers at intermission.
Jackson played a great set and was very talkative. He apologized for the Presidential election and played "Lives in the balance" and "I am a patriot"., he also played my favorite "blue and black" and "call it a loan" WOW. At one point in the concert after Jackson got up and danced to "Take It Easy" Bond asked me how old Jackson was.
I answered "How old to you think he is?", Bond replied in his 20's. Well, I said he was 6 years older then me 56. Bond said he looked so young and he sounded young also. I told the boys that I had seen Jackson in 1975 in Portland Maine and he looks the same.
I went to Jacksons show in Antwerp, Belgium (05/12/2004). It was a great show and it went even better. After having a drink in the bar of the Elizabethzaal, we went outside and who stood there between a few fans: indeed, Mr. Browne himself. We were allowed to take some pictures with Jackson.
Well here's the problem: the lady who took those pictures hasn't mailed them yet, maybe she has forgotten my mail-adres... Is it possible to place an anouncement on your site? That would help me a lot. I'm looking forward recieving these pictures!
thanks a lot,
Dear Russ,
I was looking over your web site and I wanted to say thank you for creating a place where we can communicate about this artist who has clearly touched many lives. My first exposure to Mr. Browne was in 1971 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, at the Music Center in LA. He was touring with Joni Mitchell and I was there to see her. Jackson had himself, a guitar, and a piano and swept us all away. 33 years later, I can still feel the emotion of that night, and I have given several accounts of that experience to my son. His music has been changing with me throughout my life experiences from that time until now. It still sweeps me away. As I listen to his older songs, there is not one that does not hold some special sentiment, memory or sensation that brings back the feel of a time gone by. As I listen to his new music, I am amazed at how the insights and topics have matured along with the people of our generation. I know that being a So Cal resident and growing up in Orange County myself explains some of this connection I feel with his music.
Throughout the years I have seen him in concert many times, but by far the most recent one at the County Fair in Pomona (Sept 2004), was a landmark moment in my life. My 17 year old son went with me. I had been tossing a few songs his way here and there, and he became very fond of "Late for the Sky." He could not help but be caught up in the enthusiasm of the concert, and I am certain it was an experience he will not forget. Music with meaning; relevant, poetic, thoughtful and at the same time containing enough comic relief to make us both giddy. My son Daniel went out and bought every CD that I was lacking in my JB collection for my birthday. Being a 17 year old with a sense of humor, he now enjoys "The Naked Ride Home," "Redneck Friend," as well as several others, and kind of seeks out some of those more testosterone laden JB songs. You know which ones I mean.
I hope he can understand what this means to me, as a person, as a parent. I pray that his personal life is blessed with inner peace, because he has done so much on so many levels.
Thanks for giving me this chance to express these thoughts.
I hope we see Jackson in Europe again very soon. I saw one of his shows in Manchester UK in October and am still buzzing. I've been a huge fan since 1977 when a friend played me the Late for the Sky album. I've bought every album since. I took my daughter and sister-in-law to the show and they were spellbound as I was. Thanks to everyone for emailing setlists from the tour....it really is appreciated.
