Jackson Browne - Fan Letters & Reviews
December 2001

GENERAL FAN COMMENTS

I cannot believe that Jackson got passed over in regards to the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame. Will he ever get the credit that he deserves? Well as long as we know how special he is I guess is the important thing.

Webmaster's Reply: Please see the post in the October 2000 Letters & Reviews section of this site of my article on this topic that appeared in the Los Angeles Times and a dozen other newspapers across that U.S. that month. Unfortunately, what I said then still applies today.

GENERAL FAN COMMENTS

I am an avid fan and I'm in need of Jackson's next release. I have lived my life similar to his beliefs. I admire his courage and outlook on life. He has a wonderful heart. I would love to learn all about him that I can. Like I said, I can't wait for something new.

Webmaster's Reply: The latest news I've heard is that although Jackson Browne had hoped to have the new album finished by the end of this year, it looks like recording will continue into 2002. Once he finishes recording and mixing the album, he will then turn the masters over to Elektra Records and they will have to decide when they want to release it. This will depend a great deal on their internal timetables and production schedules. A release for sometime in 2002 is a fairly safe guess at this time.

GENERAL FAN COMMENTS

I've read several of the letters on the official site that Jackson has encouraged us all to read.....good reading in the sense that there is alot of food for thought, however, what IS the answer to our current situation....The New War??......sure we hear about the bad that this nation has done in the past and yes perhaps some of what was done may very well have had something to do with what's taking place now..but this is today, not yesterday... What may I ask was the US suppose to do after 911?? This entire world is to blame for the craziness that we all face these days. Certainly it is not just us and this gov't. that has lead the march in this entire world's corruption.

There are no easy solutions, there is no answer, but until we get our shit together as individuals, each and every one of us walking the face of this planet, I'm afraid that war will be on the agenda for a long while to come....such as the case with 911.... Just look at what it took to bring us to yet another awareness level. The soul searching, the spiritual awakenings, the slowing down that so many of us just had to do in order to seek out perhaps, the important things in our lives, to regroup. But we're still not there...and probably won't be for eons to come. This hate and violence just reached it's peak, and yes, in my opinion, we needed to do something....enough already!!!

Someone needed to start the process of eliminating this crap...cleansing if you will. It just so happened that the spinning bottle stopped on us.... and now we are hoping to kiss it good-bye...or at least give it our best shot. I'm all for peace, love and harmony....I want it just as bad as anyone.....just as bad as Jackson. We need to all start by giving of ourselves, trusting that for all things there is a purpose.....smile for God sake....be kind.....share your spirituality even if the individual you're sharing with is a complete asshole... be brave. They are bound to learn something even if just a tad, from someone who speaks from the heart. If enough of us lived this way daily and faithfully, imagine how far it would travel?

We need to vote for leaders who think this way....one's who perhaps have children and grandchildren....who perhaps have had a taste of real love.....the unconditional kind. One's who we think have a soul, and can appreciate ours. No, world peace probably won't happen in my lifetime, or yours....but it's a beginning. And maybe this isn't anything new, this whole idea of making the world a better place and how we need to go about doing it, but it's new in the sense that we need to just DO IT!! Stop all of this analyzing, and finger pointing, blameing our gov't especially....we're all to blame, and it's up to us individually to change all things for the better.....making kindness and honesty a habit, setting good examples, sharing it..voting for people who we think are real ..the answer may be just that, and as simple as that.

And for Jackson, sign those autographs, smile and get to know those devoted fans...let them get to know you. If you think that your music is enough of a contribution here...you might want to think again....Judy Harris P.S. "You may say that I'm a dreamer, but I KNOW I'm not the only one".....'tis time to get off the pot folks!!

GENERAL FAN COMMENTS

I have only seen Jackson twice. ÊI would have loved to have seen him every time he was nearby. ÊThe first time I saw him was in 1974 (I think). ÊHe was at the Capitol Center in Maryland. ÊHe was touring with the Eagles and Linda Rondstadt. Unfortunately, I didn't even know who he was at that time. ÊMy friends and I decided to make a trip to the girls room when he was about to come on stage. ÊWhile we were in the bathroom in line, he started singing "Dr. My Eyes" Êand we all looked at each other and said "oh that's who he is."

I love all of his music and it has helped me a lot with different things in my life. I love listening to him talk too. ÊHe is very nice to look at and to sing along with in the car. ÊI hope he knows how wonderful he is.

GENERAL FAN COMMENTS

To Russ, JB's Fan Club and Jackson,

Wishing you all a very safe and peaceful New Year ahead...let's make 2002 a year that we all try to respect our fellow man...seems we lost track of kindness to one another...and after the year we have gone thru, I really think we owe it to one another to reach out...

May God watch over us all...but let's do it ourselves as well.

ciao,
