Hi Guys,
I'm a big JB fan and was supposed to be in europe for several of the shows this tour. Unfortunately, things changed and I wasn't able to make the trip. I was wondering if anybody had any photo's from any of the concerts that you could e-mail to me.....the next thing to being there? Thanks,
A great concert, full of deep emotions. Thank you for your music and your voice.
Poor jackson browne what fall of style! At the Milano's concert was surrounded of insiders most arrogant of Bush..... and Jackson doesn't lose 5 minutes for 20-30 fans (WOW!) that asked for only a small autograph. A real figure of sh**!!!!
Jackson Browne - From Derry to Dublin
Derry City is mirrored in the friendliness of its people and their love of music and the Millennium Forum is a wonderful new venue. The sense of expectation is palpable as Jackson Browne takes the stage to play a 20-song set over two hours with an impressive and moving performance. Plagued by a rough throat that hinders his singing on a number of the opening songs, Jackson Browne gives a consummately professional and honest performance that belies the years and confirms him as a major musical force in terms of output and relevance since the 70's when his fame was at its peak.
The six musicians he has taken on tour are such strong players that the space between the music is a joy to behold with the song arrangements hanging on various subtle patterns throughout the set. New and old material gets equal billing with a somewhat reserved and reverential audience failing to spark the atmosphere into overdrive. The new material - The Night Inside Me, For Taking The Trouble, About My Imagination and My Stunning Mystery Companion all sit easily into the old songs and are played with finesse and restrained beauty by the ensemble. Sleep's Dark and Silent Gate was a standout performance from the old songs and the power in the performance is quite stunning.
A tour bus driven directly to Dublin after the show, followed by a day of rest at the hotel. All interviews cancelled as he rests his voice - yours truly losing out, sadly. The welcome at the Olympia is everything that Derry was not - loud, rapturous and enduring. Jackson is impressed and the pace of the show really ignites from the start with wonderful playing and powerful delivery. His voice is in better shape with little evidence to show that he has been struggling just the night before.
The set is different tonight with six new numbers, including past favourites, Late for the Sky and For A Dancer. Jackson is in fine form and changes the running order to accommodate audience requests on more than one occasion. The repertoire is so large that he cannot satisfy everybody but that does not stop his gracious nature coming over on the night. Not that Jackson Browne has lost his social awareness and he does a scorching version of Lives in the Balance that has added resonance with the threat of war hanging over everybody. Throw in classic renditions of Fountain of Sorrow, Call It A Loan, Shape of a Heart, and you have a show that delivered on all levels.
With Christy Moore in the audience, Jackson dedicated Before The Deluge to the great man and it has never sounded better. The new Casino Nation is as damning a song on American avarice in the face of rampant world poverty that you will ever hear - wonderful stuff. Throw in Song For Adam, Rock Me On The Water, and Barricades Of Heaven as a map to past experiences as a youth and the show roared along toward a stunning finale of The Pretender, Running On Empty and The Load Out/StayÉ
You needed to be there, should have been there, so much to admire, so much to be thankful for, the man is a giantÉ
I just want to add a "little" note:
David Lindley & Walli Ingram played with Jackson and band 3 songs !!
and who sing in Stay ..... you're right !! Mr. Dave !
GREAT SHOW, GREAT SOUND, GREAT AUDIENCE, WONDERFUL JACKSON

Hi, if anyone knows how I might be able to get an autographed pic of Jackson Browne for my mom for her birthday I would really appreciate it. My mom has had a really hard year this year and I know it would be the one of the best things that I could do for her. Im also gonna try and get her some tickets to the concert in dallas this summer and if anyone knows about how much they will cost I'd appreciate some feedback on that, that way I will know how much to save up. Thank you,
Teatro Nazionale Milano April, 1 2003
My apologizes to Amanda (background vocalist of Jackson).
I was here with my wife to have the concert in the evening.
I walked in the street behind the teatro and I went inside the backstage to get a signature on a cd of Jackson (last cd naked ride home).
The first I met was Amanda inside his dressing room. She looked me and I looked her. She frightned for my intrusion and so I when I saw his eyes.
So I went out.
My apologizes Amanda I only wanted a signature on the cd by Jackson.
So the concert was beautiful. High increasing emotions while the songs were going. The band was perfect and the presence of David Lindley was a beutiful surprise.
He sang with Jackson in three songs and at the end in Stay as on Running on Empty record.
The choise of the songs, I think, were conditioned by the war and so we didn't hear some ones that are among the most beautiful Jackson wrote.
Till the end I hoped in Linda Paloma, your bright baby blues, sky blue and black, for everyman.
However at the end we were all standing up around the stage and the most part of people were 40 years old and more.
At the end Jackson took the bandiera with the wrote Peace someone gave him and say hello to the public.
There were three encores and the last one was Load out with Stay.
I and a lot of other fans are alway waiting an acoustic album of Jackson with Lindley. I hope someday we will get that.
Byes and thanks
Great show with big surprise.

Yesterday evening Jackson played at the Auditorium. This is the fourth time I see him in Rome. Jackson has made a wonderful concert. I am sure he enjoied it too. His music and lyrics have no age. I want to thank him for all the emotions he has been giving me for over 20 years. I wish him the best for his life and for his career, and I hope to see him soon again in Rome.
P.S. Thanks for all the useful information I find on the site.
A great evening with JB! Even after numerous concerts world-wide, he is able to create this exceptional feeling with his fans, he doesn't miss any suggestion or compliment coming from the crowd ...and he has always the right answer! He is not only a great artist but also a man with humility. The Mayor of Rome had asked him before the concert to play The Road . Jackson started playing the song (solo with his guitar) and couldn't remember some of the chords.. so he started the song all over again and this time he got some words wrong ... and in the end he took the piece of paper with the lyrics and did the song ;-) ... creating this incredible feeling of friendship between him and his fans. Great!
Thanks Jackson
Allow me to extend huge thanks to Jackson and his superb band for two splendid shows in Manchester this year. I think that this show just about eclipsed last month's performance at The Bridgewater Hall. Jackson was more talkative this time and far more responsive to requests from the audience. However, I'm still not quite sure what his monologue about a chiropractor in Australia was all about! My only disappointment was that he didn't play Before The Deluge during either of his visits to Manchester....but you can't have it all..... I only hope that it won't be another six years before he comes this way again. Let the music keep our spirits high.....
Anyhow, here's a record of the songs performed. Please note that this set list has been compiled from memory and so the running order may not be totally accurate!
Thank you for the incredible atmosphere that there was in the theatre. Thank you for all your songs. Everything is possible. PEACE.
Oh me Oh my what a show. This was my first JB concert and what a thrill it was. JB was fantastic. thank you Jackson.
Concert review: Verona, Italy, at the Estravagario Teatro on April 2
Two days before the date they changed the place where the concert should take place: Estravagario Teatro Tenda instead of Palasport. He was great!! We all had a beautiful 3 hour concert, even Jackson was very happy and never stopped thanking us for they all felt themselves "at home". The theatre is very like a small circus, and the atmosphere was very warm and familiar. When they started to play Running on empty a large group of persons (me too!!) runned in front of the stage dancing, jumping and singing loud with him, we were all mad! It was a great moment of my life, he stood just over me, 1 or 2 metres. As for the songs, it strucked me Lives in the balance: an acoustic version I had never heard before, though some guys next to me said they prefer the "rocker" JB. Till I go down was beautiful: I don«t understand the latest reviews from Scandinavia. Rosie was a request from the public: JB at the piano, all male members of the band doing harmonies and shaking their hands (!!) I had never heard These days in the country version, I loved it. After the first 4 songs a voice called "Stay!" loud, and he answered: "Yes, we are gonna stay for a while!". After one other song another voice called for Take it easy and JB said: "So you want me to play an Eagles song!"
A marvellous evening with JB and his great band!!
Ciao
Hi all,
I'm a great Jackson's fan and I would like to thank "Brother Jackson" and his band for the great concert I had the possibility to see in MILANO. I think that Jackson should come in Italy once a year(at least),'cause there is a need to hear great music more often.
In my opinion, the great surprise of the concert was the presence of David Lindley, who played the guitar in that beautiful song called "CALL IT A LOAN", and then played the slide guitar in "The Next Voice you hear", "Running on empty"....
Thank you Jackson for your beautiful songs!!!!

I don't know what to tell you about Milan, there's so much I need help Stuart!
It's still a bit of a dream. Booked Milan on the spur of the moment after urgings and help from Stuart via the list and went after a wonderful Jackson weekend at Brighton on Friday and then straight on to Warwick on Saturday - a really great night.
Met Stuart and Christine in Milan and we picked our tickets up early, heard Jackson and the band doing a soundcheck so wandered in to the Teatro Nazionale and just sat down at the front and watched and listened. I still can't quite believe it, the atmosphere was very relaxed, Jackson and the band doing sound checks, then Jackson trying to make sure there was space for 'Wally' then sorting out an amplifier for David (Stuart twigged who was coming) Then a big smile broke out on Jackson's face and we turned to see and there was David Lindley walking down with Wally Ingram and his new fiancee. Beautiful reunion of great friends. We were just spellbound, what a privilege to sit in on their soundcheck and rehearsal, to see Jackson and David standing looking at each other with such love and respect while rehearsing Call it a loan. Jackson's stunning mystery companion Diana was there too, taking photographs and adding to the party atmosphere. Then they rehearsed The Next Voice You Hear and then.....Running on Empty and the guitar and keyboard solos, Jackson couldn't decide if it sounded better with long or short solos, Kevin immediately stepped in and said short...
Still in a dream, I left at the end of the soundcheck and sat in a pavement cafe with an Italian-sized gin and tonic to wait for the concert. A young Italian lady asked about my teeshirt ( the retro version ) she and her friends were going to the concert and great JB fans, it made me think of Massimo who had welcomed us to Milan through the list and then there he was!
Anyway, it was amazing to meet Massimo and his friends and fellow list members - they were all so nice - the party continued - it's still going on here.
Jackson and the band came on stage as usual, Jackson said how pleased he was to be in Italy and to see all the rainbow peace flags draped from buildings, and that they were against the war. The music was tight and powerful, at some point Jackson repeated comments made at Brighton about the U.S. carving up the spoils, keeping rebuilding contracts to themselves whilst the war's still being fought, and how Bush and Blair should be put out of office (met with cheers in Milan, relative silence in Brighton).
The second half became a party again with the arrival of David and Wally for call it a loan. Jackson said it was the only song they wrote together, for all the thousands of hours they had made music together. Before Running on Empty he commented on the thousands of times they must have played it together (with short solos). During Stay, David seemed to be enjoying Jackson's early 60's rock and roll version (I can't remember who recorded it, my first version was the Hollies) and then David came on for the falsetto bit.
Milan was wonderful, a party from start to finish. Thankyou Stuart and Christine for getting me there, thankyou Massimo and friends for your welcome and hospitality, thankyou all the Italian fans for your enthusiasm, and thankyou Jackson and the band for a fabulous tour. Fill in the gaps, Stuart,
Love to you all
Thank you for a great concert. You do one great missing. You dont play Load out/stay. Why ?? Anyway, see you next time.
Best regards
Hi Russ,
I saw 6 Jackson shows in Australia and might be able to make Japan shows. Any ideas how I go about getting tickets, I know it's a long shot but I think worth it!! Can anyone help with any suggestions? Thanks,
I have three tickets for sale for the Jackson Browne show in Pittsburgh. I bought six tickets, but only need three because some friends backed out. I will be willing to sell at ticket price or less. If anyone is interested, please e-mail me at debnjoe@stargate.net
CONCERT REVIEW: Murcia Auditorio, Spain at 8.30pm on Sunday 6th April
The Sala Narciso Yepes is an even more beautiful concert hall than those I had already visited in England earlier in the tour. Having lived in this part of Spain, I knew Murcia to be a fine university town with a beautiful cathedral and some great restaurants. And so it proved. What they have added since I was last here is a state of the art three tier concert hall, alongside a smaller version with the kind of impressive architecture that is modern Spain. We knew we were in the right place when we saw the same tour buses as we had seen at the English venues. This was confirmed shortly afterwards when we bumped into Mauricio Lewak, the drummer, as we walked into the town. Mauricio chatted very amiably for several minutes before heading back for the sound check.
The concert started bang on time at 8.30pm. This is late for England but normal for Spain, and Jackson played the same sort of length set as we had seen elsewhere, with just the one encore, probably because Jackson felt more tired at the end of tour and the size of the audience too was smaller than some of the houses he has played to. The first half featured much the same songs as we had heard a few days earlier. The band launched into "The Night Inside Me" before JB announced in Spanish that there would be old songs and new songs - and this would be a very old song - it was "Fountain of Sorrow". An anti-war demonstration was taking place just near the Auditorio and I half expected Jackson to allude to that. In fact, again in Spanish, he said that the band members were all against the war, and announced an anti-war song which turned out to be "Till I go down", as sung in the latter stages of the UK tour. He also broke the format of earlier shows by placing "Lives in the Balance" in the front half. This meant a double journey for Mauricio down from his drum kit to play the cajón, something he later repeated after the interval with the new "For Taking the Trouble". The cajón is a box resembling a bathroom laundry bin that Mauricio sat astride and thumped with his right hand, his left using a stick. In previous shows these two songs were placed together in the second half. The first half closed with the instrumental party pieces on "My Stunning Mystery Companion".
Thanks to a few empty seats in the front row, we joined some British people who live locally. They were originally from Manchester and couldn't believe how lucky they were that JB had come to their neck of the woods. My set list for the second half was provided courtesy of a roadie, and shows the guitars used by Val McCallum, along with their tunings. Jackson slipped in one request during this half - the beautiful "Song for Adam" released on his first album. The band left the stage to JB who sang beautifully and movingly to his own guitar accompaniment. Along with "Child in These Hills" which Jackson announced as a song they had been having fun with on the tour, these two showed what riches are on this album, and neither "Doctor My Eyes" nor "Rock Me On the Water" featured on this particular evening. We loved "Child", especially the great introduction on guitars and the stylish and sensitive harmonica of Val McCallum.
Another song which helped us feel our trip to Spain was worthwhile (as if we needed a reason) was "Sergio Leone". Jackson said that we were near Almeria, although the audience didn't seem to pick up on the references to the spaghetti westerns that lie behind the song, and which were filmed in southern Spain. At the end of the song JB seemed to say to the band that it had gone really well and they should do it again. This suggested to me that he had made a place on the set list for this song especially for the Spanish setting. What with the request for "Song for Adam" there was no time for "The Pretender", so it was straight into "Running on Empty" before the encore of "The Load Out" and "Stay". I saw that we were scheduled to hear "Soldier of Plenty", the Bonnie Raitt song which JB featured on some of the other dates, and may also have given us "Everyman", but we were well happy with what he had given us instead and the two new additions, "Song for Adam" and "Sergio Leone", had been great to hear live.
This concert was our fourth and last and perhaps we were getting used to things, and perhaps the band were understandably getting tired and looking forward to their imminent trip home. Nevertheless, they put on a fantastic show and I hope that the Spanish fans who turned up went away prepared to spread the word. They certainly seemed to have enjoyed themselves as we left. We drove back to Benidorm feeling a terrible sense of loss that we were not going to be seeing the band any more on the European leg of their tour. But we haven't ruled out a couple of US dates later in the summer!
Approximate set list for the second half

Hi Russ,
I enclose an article I have written for a digital publication. I hope you to enjoy.
http://www.elsemanaldigital.com/pistas.asp?idarticulo=290
just got back from a long vacation in England and Holland. had the good fortune of seeing jackson in concert while i was in england the last weekend of March. i met my friend, maria, in london who had flown in from miami. over the past few months i have been sending her jackson's music and she has grown to appreciate it. however, she told me that it was a "true labor of love" that she was leaving london on this short weekend to make the 90 minute drive to warwick for the jackson browne concert she thought was not going to be very enjoyable. on the contrary! jackson gave a fabulous performance (i already knew this!) and maria was thankfully impressed. i think we have another convert in the jackson group now. i can't remember the set list at this point, but saw it listed elsewhere on this site. overall a fantastic show is a charming town.
Hi ...
i'm a 22 years old musicien from Bahrain "Middle East", i am a big fan of the classical rock music and specially Jackson's style, he's my ideal in the world of music, i've got the collection of all of his albums from "Jackson Browne" till "the naked ride home", i can play most of his songs, i even produced a private album about his career, i called it "a thanksgiving to Jackson Browne" , it contains songs from all his albums " a song from each album", i didn't produce that for money, i just played those songs and recorded them, and i distributed it among my family members and friends ... currently, i''m trying to save some money to see him performing live on stage, i really wanna follow his tour schedual so i can catch him .. Jackson is the grestest lyrics writer on this planet and one of the legends of the rock and roll music ..
Kind Regards,
I was wondering if there is anyone out there who feels the way I do. JB has been my favorite singer/songwriter for about 15 years now. However the older I get the less I agree with his political views. I try not to let his views stand in the way of his brilliant music. The two seem to intertwine though.
1. The Night Inside Me 2. Fountain Of Sorrow 3. The Barricades Of Heaven 4. Casino Nation 5. Till I Go Down 6. Black And White 7. Lives In The Balance 8. These Days 9. The Naked Ride Home 10.My Stunning Mystery Companion Intermission 11.About My Imagination 12.In The Shape Of A Heart 13.For Taking The Trouble 14.Rosie (For Audiense's Request) 15.Late For The Sky 16.A Child In These Hills 17.Never Stop 18.Culver Moon 19.Sleep's Dark and Silent Gate 20.The Pretender 21.Running On Empty Encores 22.The Load Out/Stay Encores 23.Doctor My Eyes
A Great Concert !
In response to A Hernandez regarding Jackson's political views.
I feel exactly like you regarding Jackson's strong anti war stance and the political messages he sends. I admire him for taking stands on issues even though I certainly do not always agree. [edit] His politics in song has hurt his popularity although he could probably care less. He is one of the greatest musicians of our time but will not be recognized as such.
I've been a big fan of Jackson for 25+ years. Jacksons political views are as good as his music. I wish Jackson would have more political songs.
More and more as our country drifts off towards far right radical policies. People have to take a stand, we all can be thankful Jackson is keeping progressive causes in his actions and music.
What words could be more true:
They sell us the President the same way
They sell us our clothes and our cars
They sell us every thing from youth to religion The same time they sell us our wars
I want to know who the men in the shadows are I want to hear somebody asking them why
They can be counted on to tell us who our enemies are But they're never the ones to fight or to die And there are lives in the balance
If you are not outraged about policies of this country your not paying attention.
I'm glad Jackson is speaking the truth.
I am probably the opposite of what A Hernandez is experiencing. I have found myself re-listening to songs like How Long, I am a Patriot (by Little Steven) and Lives in the Balance as they now strike a chord that wasn't playing for me before. Likening WWII to the events of today are much like comparing oranges and apples. Nazism versus the Baath party is no comparison. I find that the articles Jackson sends via his newsletter presenting many viewpoints on today's issues that get me to think. Not sensationalized news from the nightly news (because it sells), rather informed dialogue regarding a region and a religion that few of us understand. Thank you Jackson for your views and sharing the views of others with me.
P.S. On April 27 Jackson appeared on FM802 Sunday Sunset Studio. DJ Mari Yamazoe (Osaka FM Radio Station) Recorded April 26 at FM802 Studio Interview (Making of "Take It Easy") and Acoustic solo live "These Days" (acoustic guitar) and "Don't Want to Be There" (acoustic guitar).

On May 1 Jackson appeared on VIVA! ACCESS DJ Mibu Minami J-Wave (Tokyo FM Radio Station). Interview (Surfin At Kamakura Japan Before Japan Tour with Family) and Acoustic solo live. "Never Stop" (acoustic guitar) and "Take It Easy" (acoustic guitar) www.j-wave.co.jp
