GENERAL FAN COMMENTS

There's a moment in time when you remember who you are so clearly that it hurts and at the same time is euphoria and when you are moving through life there are artists who touch you in the one moment where you have that deep remembering.

I just wanted Jackson Browne to be reminded of why he is here because he certainly touched that part of me with For Everyman in 1973. More recently the song came by me one more time and brought forth not only the remembrance of who I was and what I was felling then but again the universal sense of why I am here at all.

GENERAL FAN COMMENTS

Dear Russ:

I am generally not a writer. However, I saw your comments to readers that letter volume was lower and I wanted to write you and thank you for a great site. I have checked it and enjoyed your up to date information at least once a month for the last few years. My husband and I live in San Diego, so it is possible for us to head up to LA for concerts. The problem is hearing about them! The local paper does not seem to cover LA. Anyway, thanks to keeping up with your site, we have attended about four JB concerts and benefits in the last few years out of our regular area. My favorite have been the benefit for Jackson's son's school two years ago at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium and the Sedona benefit that he does every year. We went to that in 1998 (Crosby Stills & Nash; Marc Cohn) and it was an awesome experience. So thanks a lot for the site and keep it up! People are reading even if they are not writing. Hopefully we have another great album coming up sometime and a supporting tour.

Jackson Browne has special significance for my husband and I. When we got together in 1976 JB was one of the few musical favorites we had in common. So we wore out all our tapes and records together. I was "forced" to listen to Jackson by UCSB roommates in 1973-4 who played his first two albums absolutely non-stop. As I wasn't taking time to listen to the lyrics, I complained non-stop. Then I went to an Eagles concert at UCSB where JB made a surprise appearance. That was the first time I had ever seen a musician concert-hop with friends. I was impressed by the support that this showed and went back and listened to the lyrics.

Favorite 1970-80 concerts were at the Santa Barbara Bowl (1974?) and the two South American benefit concerts in San Diego in 1987 (?) and June 1990. I remember the date of the June 1990 concert as I was 9 months pregnant and having false labor during the concert. I was sort of hoping I would go into labor then (didn't) as the hospital was close and it would have made a good story!
