Wendy Waldman & Kenny Edwards performed a house concert at our home on April 21, 2001.

Wendy Waldman and Kenny Edwards are both in the band Bryndle with their friends Karla Bonoff and Andrew Gold. Bryndle first formed in the late 1960s in Los Angeles. A 1970 album for A&M Records was recorded but never released and Bryndle soon disbanded... for more than 20 years!

Wendy Waldman went from Bryndle to a career as a solo artist and respected songwriter and producer. She has made seven critically acclaimed albums and toured extensively as well. In 1996, a "best of" collection was released on Warner Brothers. More than 70 other artists have recorded her songs in fields as diverse as pop, r&b, jazz, country, Latin and cowboy music. Among her biggest records are "Save The Best For Last" and "The Sweetest Days" by Vanessa Williams; "Fishin' In The Dark" and "Home Again In My Heart" by the Dirt Band; "Baby What About You" by Crystal Gayle; "I Owe You One" by Aaron Neville; and "Heartbeat" by Don Johnson. Her songs have also ben recorded by Maria Muldaur, Kim Carnes, Randy Travis, Randy Meisner, Edgar Winter, Jesse Colin Young, Percy Sledge, Juice Newton, Linda Ronstadt, Judy Collins, Melissa Manchester, Rita Coolidge and Bette Midler to name just a few. Waldman became the first woman to produce country music extensively and was responsible for Susy Bogguss' award-winning debut album, as well as albums for the Forester Sisters, Jonathan Edwards, Matraca Berg and the Ozark Mountain Daredevils.

Before Bryndle, Kenny Edwards had been a founding member of the Stone Poneys with Linda Ronstadt. After Bryndle, he returned to work with Linda Ronstadt on her ground-breaking album, Heart Like A Wheel. He subsequently spent many years with her as a sideman, singer, arranger and touring band member. Edwards also became a noted producer and was responsible for masterminding Karla Bonoff's hit albums. He has worked with such other acts as Stevie Nicks, J.D. Souther and Don Henley, Brian Wilson, Warren Zevon, Art Garfunkel, Vince Gill, Mac McAnally, David Lee Murphy, Jennifer Warnes, Danny Kortchmar, and Lowell George.

In 1995 Bryndle reformed and finally released an album -- one of our very favorite albums of the decade! About 18 before this concert, we made a list of people that we most wanted to host a house concert for and Wendy Waldman & Kenny Edwards were 2 of the top 5 on our list. It goes without saying that we were very excited about this show... and they sure didn't disappoint!! This show filled up more than a month in advance and set an attendance record here with 116 people. We also had enough people on our waiting list that we could have filled the room two nights in a row!

Wendy & Kenny performed two fabulous sets of original music. Wendy on guitar and keyboards and Kenny on guitars and mandolin, they went through a set list of some of their solo work, a few Bryndle songs as well as a good portion of new material that was very well received by our overflowing audience. Anyone who is interested in the complete set list, just drop us a line and we'll be happy to send it to you.

We want to thank Wendy & Kenny for a great show. (The feedback was tremendous!) We also owe a very special thanks to Susan & David Kaye for sponsoring this concert. Susan and David have been attending our house concert series for a long time now. We greatly appreciate their friendship and their ongoing support of our house concert series.
